Marwa Deeb is a young from north of Lebanon innovator who decided to confront one of the most serious environmental challenges by turning back to nature itself.
From the riverbanks, she carefully harvests a specific plant, extracts a natural material from it, and transforms it at home into bioplastic after a long process of experimentation. This material is not limited to small-scale use.
It can be processed into powder or pellets that may be supplied directly to plastic manufacturers as a partial alternative to conventional petrochemical materials. Most importantly, this bioplastic fully biodegrades within approximately three months, turning into natural compost that enriches the soil instead of polluting it.
Marwa’s project does not merely introduce a new material; it proposes a new way of thinking about our relationship with nature: taking from it, using responsibly, and returning to it without destruction.
